But the year of ups and downs has reminded me of something. My daddy used to say, "keep yo' sunny side up, Jack!"
That man can find the bright side of every situation no matter what he is facing! I mean, he was MIA for over 6 months during the Viet-Nam war, came home without a scratch on him, stepped off the curb at the airport and broke his leg. But never, did he let his situation get him down. Why? Because he is resilient.
And so are you.
You may not feel like you are, but look back over your life. You've come a long way, baby. Things have popped up and blind sided you, but you're still standing. And you're stronger than ever now too, I'll bet. So this year, I challenge you (and I'm challenging myself too). Stop hating yourself for what you aren't and start loving yourself for what you are. Look on the bright side. And like my daddy always urged me to do, stay smiling.
